Our developers at CollegeSafetyNet extended the design philosophy used in our
hosting facility when they designed our Instant Alert campus warning system. We
utilize a multi-modal contact strategy in order to make multiple contact
attempts to each subscriber in the event of an emergency. By employing multiple
contact methods (SMS Text messaging, email, and Text-To-Speech voice dialing to
both land lines and cell phones), CollegeSafetyNet makes every possible effort
to alert each and every subscriber in the event of an emergency.
CollegeSafetyNet then goes a step further with the ability to track delivery
status on every single alert which is broadcast by our system. This gives
college administrators using our system the peace of mind and accountability to
track the delivery confirmation for each and every single student in the
subscriber database. If there is ever a question as to whether a particular
student actually received an alert message, a simple report can be run to track
the details of each contact attempt, including whether the Text-To-Speech phone
alerts resulted in an answering machine or live person who answered the call.
The system also automatically redials any numbers which did not receive a live
answer on the first contact attempt, further improving the percentage of
